Aquarium Bass
Yup, and good luck affording THAT!! A bass eats 2/3 it's body weight per day. It will survive on much less but do you want to do that to a WILD animal? This is the truth! When I was about 11 or 12 I kept a 8" bass that I caught out of a pond by my house. I had it in a 40 gallon aquarium and it did fine. The eating habbits that Low_Budget described are dead on. I used to feed it a dozen minnows 3 or 4 times a week and then whatever small fish and crawfish I could catch at the creek. It would inhale a dozen minnows in literally 60 seconds tops. Back then mommy and daddy told me I had to get rid of it or get a job.

What was this guy doing?
I went out on Smithville Lake here in MO and had a good day. I had the bite early on weightless trickworms but it quickly shut down. We tried a few things but we ended up throwing crankbaits through and around a creek channel we found that had some shad action. I caught 3 under 2 lb bass and my buddy was fairing a little better, catching a 4 lb and 5 lber. Anyway, with all this bass action it was my (pleasant?) surprise to catch this beautiful walleye. 30.5" 12.5 lbs! For reference, I'm 6' 2", 200 lbs.

Color of your crawfish???????
Here in Missouri we usually have larger craws that are blueish and black and a hint of red with lobster like "pinchers". And the smaller ones are usually a dark orangish/rust color with smaller "pinchers"

Catch. Release. Repeat.
LOL! That's one of the funnier things i've heard in a while. It's nice to know, after reading everything about how smart and intelligent these fish are, that in the end we still have the superior brain power. Good job, looks like a good day. P.S. I fish a small lake on a wildlife refuge here in MO that has a cove that looks almost identical to the one you are standing in front of. Just a weird note.

C-rig success
I completely understand what you are saying, and I felt the same way until now. I fished a c-rigged baby brush hog the last two days and yesterday i had minimal success...as photographed. But today i had 35 mile an hour winds in my face, cold as H*%# outside and caught 4 fish on the c-rig. I fished other techniques such as a jig-n-pig(which is my primary confidence bait now) and slowly fishing t-rigs and I honestly felt I was going to catch nothing. I tied on the c-rig and had success. Maybe it was just the timing but I honestly feel the c-rig, out of any other technique i've learned and tried yet, has been the most beneficial addition to my repitoire. So maybe next time you are at walmart you do what i did and instead of buying the new rapala, spend that 5 dollars on the necessities for carolina rigging and give it a try, I am sure glad i did.

C-rig success
I did the member challenge and reported in the member challenge board but i wanted to show some of the pics i took because i was in a photographer mood today. I got off work a little early and got the C-rig gear ready: I hit the little private lake and fished this little cove: And my first ever C-rig fish: And the next lunker: No lunkers today but i had a good time and gained some confidence with the C-rig. I may actually tie it on and get something other than a jig wet this weekend when i go to my honey hole.

i bought the pinnacle super 7 because it caught my eye at walmart of all places and WOW! i am impressed. i think pinnacle has definately put their name in there with all those that we bassers love. i was just wondering if anyone has tried out any of the other pinnacle baitcasters out there.

Small Pond Fishing
lol guys i think we should just estabolish that in general you can throw just about anything that you can fish with confidence and have some degree of success...i was just reading this over again and thats the conclusion i've drawn...so whatever you can throw and fish with confidence will probably work.

Small Pond Fishing
i started bass fishing ponds and small lake-like ponds and stuff that i could ride my bike to and stuff from when i was 12 to now im almost 19 and i've just started fishing bigger waters...ribbon tail plastic worms in red shad, green pumpkin, watermelon seed, and natural colored worms with a bright ribbon tails have been a "money bait" on every pond i've ever fished at any time of the year pretty much if you adjust your retrieve speed to how active the fish are you should kill them on plastic worms

new best pics and a question
you guys are brutal on the ego...jeez :-/...lol im not necissarily worried about the exact weight all i know is it was a big fish and i was excited i caught a couple more that were in the 4-5 lb range today overall id say its been a pretty successful few days of fishing. but anyone who could tell me whether or not the changing of the trailer had any impact would be greatly appreciated because it still baffles me

new best pics and a question
heres another pic i tried to tilt it up with my boot and bend around to take the picture with the reel and part of my boot in the pic for more references....but she was 21.5 inches long and 16.5 inch girth and the estimated weight came to be 6.4 lbs.....after this i had to let her go i was sad and happy at the same time lol

new best pics and a question
i caught this lady on a black and blue jig after hitting this grouping of a submerged tree and 2 trees growing out of the water around eachother from about every angle i could instinct told me to switch trailers for some reason so i did i put a new pork trailer on it out of the same jar the old one came out of so there was no difference but on my first cast with the new trailer to the same piece of cover from an angle i had tried at least twice before i caught this lady and a new personal best for me...but did the switching to a new trailer help even though it was the same thing? i took the measurements of length and girth and used the lxlxg/1200 formula to estimate the weight and took this pic im gonna try to find someone who does the replica mounts and see what they can do even though the pics not great...i was alone and all i had was my phone so i opened her mouth and put the jig in there for some kind of reference so sorry the pics not great:
