Charlotte Area Bass Chat

Featured Replies

Whats up everyone. I'm fishing all summer long near my family home in the Charlotte/Gastonia area, mainly ponds during the week and Lake Wylie/Norman/Mtn. Island on weekends. I'm just trying to figure out what everyone in the area has had luck on. I'm throwing plastics and square bill crankbaits in the ponds with decent luck, but I'm having trouble out on the lakes, especially Wylie and Norman as I haven't been to Mtn. Island yet. Any tips would be apreciated as I've been on and off in the hobby for about a year now. Thanks!

The lakes are very warm right now and an absolute zoo on the weekends. Get up lake when they're generating from the dams as the fish love the cooler oxygenated water. Fish really early, and fish into the night.  It's tough out there right now.

I fish over in the high rock area and it has been a zoo on the weekends like Volfan said.

I have been having luck on square bills and ribbon worms.
