3d fishfinders

Featured Replies

Can anyone give me feedback on any 3d fishfinders?  How well do they map the bottom?  Actual fishfinding ability isn't much concern, never trusted the smaller ones much.  I learned on a huge furuno where we could watch our baits dropping down  at 300 ft it was so sensitive.  Showed all thermoclines etc.(saltwater)

But for freshwater, I am only interested in bottom contour accuracy.   I know, I know, buy a snorkel right?  lol

LBH, I really liked the Humminbird wide 3D.....it helped me understand about bottom contour 100x better than the regular graphs. The 3D view was awesome, especially when fishing around a creek channel and finding and understanding drops and ledges.I only owned one for about 3 months, then someone stole it off my boat AT THE MARINA!!Thanks alot loser!!Hope you're enjoying my awesome 3D finder you piece of $#!-.....oh,sorry,I got off the subject a bit.....

I would buy another one without a doubt. As soon as my Pinpoint dies I'm buying another 3D.I'm actually really surprised that more marine electronic makers havent started the 3D lines.

I have a 3D Humminbird unit on my boat also and I love it. I keep it in the 3D mode almost all the time, and it gives me a much clearer picture of what the bottom actually looks like.

I have seen one work on my friends boat and it was awesome, you can see everything from weeds to brush and the ledges are very clearly shown. Great for smallie fishing.
