Rod for Jerkbaits/Finesse Jigs?

Featured Replies

So I'm wondering what sort of rod power I need to throw jerkbaits and finesse jigs (up to 3/8oz), I'm trying to get one setup to do both. I have 12lb Fluoro spooled up. I'm looking at probably getting a Medium/Fast rod. What are your opinions?

That's two completely techniques all together, but if I had to I'd use like a 7' medium casting Rod. I'd rather have a 6'6" medium for the jerkbaits and a 7'3"-7'6" mh for the finesse jigs.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunatly I'm down to one setup right now and I leave for a trip on Friday. Only have the money for one rod at the moment. Do you think I could get away with using a MH with the jerkbaits? I'm throwing visions 110's..maybe thats why I only have enough for one rod right now haha

A medium/fast rod should work fine.
