How to read depth finder?

Featured Replies

Along with the boat my dad bought came a hand contolled trolling motor that has a depth finder on it. All I know is the depth finder is a Minn Kota and the depth finder has 4 diagonal rows of 5 little lights which will blink. All of the lights seem to work, but I have no idea how to read it. Any suggestions would be helpful. I will try and get a picture to add.

Might try: Logging on to Minnie's website and checking there OR contacting their Customer Svc and asking for a quick briefing OR manual.

This oughta be easy to resolve.

I would def try to get my hands on the manual. That almost sounds like some version of a flasher form what you described. I didn't even know MK made a depth finder, new one on me. Is it a graph or just a depth finder? ???

I bet the trolling motor is a Minn Kota & there is a flasher mounted on the bow.

Minn Kota doesent make a fishfinding trolling motor, at least not yet :o I'm gonna run and sell them that idea. I'm guessing that you have a flasher, read it by looking at the first line(thats surface of water) and the second line will be your depth, theres a lot more to lear from a flasher but that'll get you started.

Sorry for the crappy picture, but its the best I can get.

I'd have to agree with gamblerOH looks like a charge indicator or maybe even power setting indicator.

Would that be the charge indicator, or maximizer, or 'tis that one in the same? Google search images of it, might see one with a plate around the lites.
