overloading trolling motor in heavy wind

Featured Replies

do any of you have a problem in boat positioning and blowing fuses while using the trolling motor to fish downwind?  i like to fish near the bank in this situation so its difficult not to let the wind blow the boat into the bank unless my foot is on the trolling motor constantly

I never blew anything like fuses or armiture or anything but my batts wont last as long fighting a heavy wind.

sounds to me like you have a wiring or connection problem . something is over heating and blowing your fuses, next time out run it on high a while then feel your wires to see if there getting real hot.
