I just picked up a Shimano Expride 7'2" Heavy frog rod. It's an awesome rod nice and light with a fast tip. I was thinking about using this for a top water rod (like Gunfish and Sammy) would this application be okay?

    Yes. That would be good for topwaters around cover so that you can get the fish away from the cover

    I have 5 expride rods they are great rods I have a variety of them that I fish would highly recommend these rods to anybody
