New here and I'm sure this topic has been covered before, if so, direct me there. Just moved from home to Upstate SC. Back home I grew up fishing on my family's pond and friends' ponds, so I had plenty of easy options. All that said, anyone have any good tips for finding bank fishing spots?  I've gotten on Google maps and looked around, but most have little to no access. Anything will be greatly appreciated.

I use google earth combined with the county's GIS site to see ownership and go from there.  Generally though i just go to public lakes so i don't have to worry about gaining access or ticking off some "owner".

same here

in Montana we have a lot of cattle irrigation canals that are stuffed with bass, i generally try and look for anything that connects to a known bass canal just to ensure that there will be bass when I get there.

sometimes I will bike upwards of fifteen miles only to find a trout pond. my point being that it helps to know what is in there first.

just drive around

I'm on the lookout whenever I'm driving around. My car has a Navigation screen, so whenever I'm out I'll keep my eyes out for ponds and go drive around them if I have time. Then it's just a matter of finding time to go fish em.
