Boats older then 1972

Featured Replies

How do you go about applying for a HID for these. The boat I was trying to get kinda fell thru, but my brother in law down in FL has and old old boat he will give me. The boat has no HID and down there they don't need to register them, so I am wondering how hard of a time a regerstering state will give me.

This should be moved, :) but I found the answer, they treat it like a homemade boat with one exception, they run a description of it thru the theft department.

I see you already found you answer but wanted to add that some states will require you to ingrave a number, when you do register it.  (I was required to do this in TX in the 80's with a jon boat i had)

They said I need to engrave it, but I might get the sheet metal guys at work to stamp me one, and I will weld it on.
