I'm a new fisherman and just purchased a kayak.  I want to go check out Portage Lakes, but I was wondering what would be a good starting point.  I've seen several different sites with conflicting info and was thinking about checking out Rex/West Reservoir's first.  Anyone have any experience here and can guide a newbie on which reservoirs to target?

I live right by there go to turkeyfoot and from there you can easily reach both I catch them fishing around docks on turkeyfoot and the west.

This year I actually caught a 5.09 in the canals going to the west. Its the one in my profile pic.
