Super User Gatorbassman Posted January 7, 2006 Super User Share Posted January 7, 2006 What kind of Radio? Is it like a car radio or is it one you can plug in the wall in your house?
Ben
If it's a house radio, you will need and inverter with a continuous output rating large enough to supply the radio, but you TM battery is not going to last as long. Not real sure I would want 115 Volts AC in a small boat though. It could lite your eyeballs up. If it's a portable and has a vehicle adapter to plug into the lighter, you can use that, with adapter made to connect to the battery. Low_Budget_Hooker
or you could just concentrate on fishing, lol. Ipod comes to mind. A car radio can run off your t/m batt. Lots of things you'll need to do and it's really not worth it to kill your batt that quickly. Did you find a strain that likes disco or somthing? I personally, would not want that kind of noise around. In my jon boat, it's hard enough to keep noise to a minimum. My saltwater boat has a radio but we waterski and stuff off of that. When there are lines in the water, the only radio that is on is the ship to shore.
topwtr81
ipod lol ;D this thread is funny though because one of the thing's my fiance' got me for christmas is a full blown am/fm cd system for the boat. I'm pretty sure I didn't ask for it but oh well who am I to complain she fish's partner event's with me if it keep's her happy
Ben
I'm feel the same a LBH. First off, I don't even listen to the radio in my vehicles, so not much of a music lover to start with, ain't about to have someone turn one on in the boat with me. If so, they had better be on headphones and I don't hear even a wisper of the noise coming out of them. Bass fishing is hard enough as it is, I'm sure they would just love to get down and boggie to the tune of some hip hop, or rap, boogie right on out of that area. Madhouse27
Its funny. We are all so hardcore that we can't imagine bringing something into a boat for the sake of creating "noise". I think what we need to keep in mind is that some people actually take their boat out for other reasons besides just fishing (strange but true). My buddy had a CD player in his Stratos and it was always fun to crank some tunes and drink a few brews in the afternoon after 6 or 7 hours of serious fishing. It always helped us make the transition from saturday afternoon to saturday night 8-).
