I caught this trout from shore on lake superior and I don't know what it is. I think it's a brook trout but I'm not sure.

I think it's a young lake trout.

i thought it was a small salmon until I saw how big it was in your hands. Its definitely a young lake trout, if it was a brook it would have red spots and the tail wouldnt be as forked. 

it honestly looks like a brook/lake trout hybrid lol i didnt know that existed but apparently it does.  

I was only 12 when this picture was taken so the fish is smaller then it might look. LOL

It could be a splake, which is a lake trout / brook trout hybrid. Here is a graphic of a splake

Hard to tell when they're that young.  They all look very similar.
