I wish my tackle box were as stocked as that.  I just got into fishing and splurged for almost $100 on lures alone.

I'm still confused as to what hooks and weights to buy, though.

There are many hooks to choose from, but the best thing to do, as a beginner, is don't make things too complicated. A 3/0 wide gap offset hook will work with just about all your plastics. You might want to have something smaller for your small plastics like tubes.

You don't need every kind of lure out there.

There's A LOT of great information in the ARTICLES section of this web site for learning about different lures and fishing situations.

Now... get out and fish... keep your line wet... and pay attention! :o

Now just use that 10lb stren line and tie all of the lures you bought in a straight line. Throw it out in the water and whatever lure the fish bites, buy 10 more of that one.

That is a great start and good luck. Use one or a couple of those lures that you can gain confidence in and fish them for a while or until you get good with that lure, then you can expand your arsonal.  Trust me, it can get expensive, but that is half the fun.  ;D

Good luck,
