March fishing in SE Massachusetts
I'm from south eastern Massachusetts, I'm wondering if any of you have a good idea when the LMB's start getting active enough to catch, or if you have any tips on where to go. Also, I know the Shad start running up the Palmer River and it's tributaries some time soon. Any body know exactaly when that happens or what kind of gear I should be using to catch them? I'm dying to catch a fish!!! Winter was too long! Any tips at all for fishing this time of year would be very appreciated. Thanks guys.

Look at BPS for the Kinami Palm Tree. Same bait, different packaging. Thanks! I'm going there tonight ... I want to buy some new stuff.

Best set-up for heavy cover?
I live in Rehoboth and work in North Attleboro ... about 4 miles from Bass Pro. My only issue with the baitcaster is making the adjustments with those tab things on the inside of the reel, I can never seem to get it right ... and I can only cast it less than half the distance I can cast my spinning.

Best set-up for heavy cover?
Thanks for the quick responses guys. I was hoping to stay with a spin casting reel, just because I'm not really used to a baitcaster, yet ... but if that's what it takes, I can learn. All last summer I fished mostly weighless senkos and crankbaits, neither of which work AT ALL in heavy cover. This summer I need to master drop-shotting and c-rigging. I think I'm going to head over to Bass Pro this weekend and pick something out ... I'd like to keep the combo under $250 if possible.

Best set-up for heavy cover?
Should the plastics be Carolina Rigged, or drop shotted? Or is that really just a matter of personal preference?

Best set-up for heavy cover?
A lot of places that I fish are loaded with heavy cover ... and I can't for the life of me get in and out of there with out getting snagged and breaking or cutting my line. I currenly have 1 6'6" medium light ugly stick spinning reel combo, and a 6'0 custom made medium heavy spinning combo ... both with 8 lb. test line ... neither of which work well. I'm thinking of going with a heavy rod with braided line and mono/fluro leader heavily weighted to get in and out of there. What do you guys think my best option is?

Drop Shot vs. Carolina Rig
What kind of weight do you guys reccomend for drop shotting?

Senko under a bobber
I tried it one time. I put the bobber like 2 feet above the hook and just let it sit with slack on the line. I just sat there watching the bobber ... saw it go under and come up about 10 feet away. Put slack back on the line and casually reeled him in ... 14" small mouth. He swallowed the hook, though ... I had to cut the line.

Hows my tackle sound?
I wish my tackle box were as stocked as that. I just got into fishing and splurged for almost $100 on lures alone. I'm still confused as to what hooks and weights to buy, though.

Beginner Here
Hey guys. I just started fishing about 2 weeks ago, and to my suprise, I've had good success. I've been probably 5 times, and I've caught 7 bass total ... not great ... but not bad for a beginner. I just have some questions about general pole set up. When would I want to use a dobber (floater etc.) and when would I not want to use one? Same with sinkers/weights ... what difference does the size of it make? I've been reading through the forums and I got some ideas on good bait to buy. I just bought some spinner bait, jig-n-pig set-ups, and some senkos. Any kind of info would be appreciated. Thanks guys!!! This seems like a great place.
