minn kota maxxum pro with lift assist

Featured Replies

Looking at getting a new trolling motor. I am down to the minn kota maxxum or the maxxum pro. The main difference that I see is that the "pro" has the lift assist feature, which is supposed to be easier to lift the trolling motor out of the water. Does anyone have one of these? The cost difference is about a 100 bucks, just wondering if it is worth it. I haven't been able to find one mounted on a boat to try it out.  Thanks for any help. :)

I mounted a 101 Maxxum Pro on my Lund last sping and it absolutly rocks. There is no more smashing the trolling motor down and wondering if it just broke off the front of your boat. :)

You'll take it for granted after a short while and not even notice it anymore, that is until you get in someone else's boat and smash the motor down. "Sorry buddy."

Get the lift assist, You'll love it!

Can you buy the lift assist mount for other minn kota motors. I have an All Terrain 65 that is only a couple of years old. It's definately got alot of life left in it. I'm going to be moving it from one boat to another so now would be the time to change mounts if I can. This lift assist sounds awesome.

I've heard that older Maxxum models could be retrofitted with lift assist for a couple hundred bucks. I am not sure about other models but Minn Kota could likely clear that question up for you.

I asked Mionn Kota the same question. They said it would void the warrantee so it must be possible but they gave no clue as to how.
