Bypass canals.

Featured Replies

I went fishing in some bypass canals for the first time here in Tampa. It had lots of cover but the water had a dark brown tint. It was about 5 pm. I used shallow divers, deep divers, and top water. I used bright colors, light colors and dark colors. fished for 2 hours and not one bit, nibble or anything. Are there any fish in these bypass canals?

If there is water, and green water plants, then there are bass.  Now you just have to figure out how to get them to bite.

Used to be. Nothing over 13 or 14 pounds though ( I'm not kidding ). Friend of mine fished it often many years ago.

I fished it on occasion but never did that good.

You must have meant 13 or 14 inches!

Did I stutter ?

I said pounds and meant it. If you choose not to believe it that's fine with me but the guy asked and I told him the truth.

I have read reports of people catching +10 pounders here, so it's a place that's definitely worth a try.
