Does anyone have any experience smallmouth fishing around Bell Isle? I feel like it would be pretty good I remember there being some decent size holes to the left of the foot bridge as you are walking to the island and I have seen some large fish over towards the walkway to Browns Island as well as in the Canal there. Whether they were largemouth or smallmouth I'm not sure. 

I haven't fished that area, but it should be good.  I recommend a Zoom Ultra Vibe Speed Craw in Green Pumpkin T-rigged swimming as a good search bait.  Also, Rage Craw in Falcon Craw knocks them out on the river.
