Redding Ponds

Featured Replies

Anyone from the Redding area like to fish the ponds around here?  Any good ponds that are open to the public?  Or anyone have access to some private ponds?  Just looking to fish some ponds in the evenings before work.

There's some behind the Jolly Giant in Anderson that aren't too bad for a quick trip.

Thanks for the reply... Starting to think this area wasnt well represented... Are those ponds easy to fish from the shore?

No problem, man. The first one you see pulling in on the left not so much, there's a couple spots but not much action unless you have a kayak. The others you can fish from the bank pretty easy. There's not really monsters out there but it's still a convenient little spot.

Ill have to try them out... They are only 5 mins from my house

A buddy and I went out there today and killed it with frogs.

Definitely do try it though, weekends can be a little busy but if you go during the week you'll have your run of the place.

We went out there tonight as well, but only for 30 mins to check out the ponds.  We could not find the back two ponds.  Are they only accessed by foot?

Yeah. If you keep driving back into the trees you come to a little dirt path you can follow around to the ponds. Either that or follow the path to the right of the first pond and walk through the gate about 150 yards in, walk down that little trail for another 50 yards or so and you're there. Those ponds are much smaller but a whole lot more fishable.

Old post I know. But I was curious if anyone has fished the pond on lake Blvd next to the old Shopko?

No I haven't. Going to go try today after work. I seen some kids going down there with rods on Saturday so I'm gonna go check it out.

Only thing down there is tweeker and frogs unfortunately.

Oh good, was worried that tweakers were becoming an endangered species in Redding. ?

That's disappointing. I have been looking around for some ponds in Redding. Most of what I have found so far has been private. I'll keep you posted if I find anything.
