preach4bass
No more mixing!!! To me, that's the biggest advantage of most newer motors. Just make sure you do keep oil in your oil tank. Congrats!!!
JT Bagwell
I run an Optimax on the back of a Triton TR20. It is an awesome motor that is very quiet and fires right up. You are correct about just filling the oil tank and letting the engine do its own thing. As far as gas mileage, I have never seen a motor that does so well. My engine tops out at 5,250 RPM's and if I run in the area of 4,000-4,200 RPM's I can get in the neighborhood of 6 MPG on gas. I know that isn't a lot by vehicle standards, but when it comes to big motors on big boats it is great. Take Care, JT Bagwell
Super User J._Bricker Posted February 18, 2006 Super User Share Posted February 18, 2006 You're going to be happy with it. Fuel injection vs carburetor is no comparison, but the Optimax on my boat (a 225hp) loves the Optimax 2 stroke oil. Good choice, and good luck
