Livewells

Recommended Posts

Me and my buddy are thinking about fishing a small toyrnament coming up in our area.  The only we proably is we fish out of a 14' jon boat.  We don't have a live well and all tournaments require them.  Is there anything we can do to get arouund this?

I dont mean using a livewell, but  i need suggestios on maybe installing a livewell or building one.

I use a 100 quart cooler and a store bought livewell pump/recirculator. You can buy the pump at walmart for like 22 bucks. It has a spray bar and all. If you use this method, be sure to change the water about once an hour and I recommend using an additive like Rejuvenade.

A cooler livewell is great. I baught a second pump with a long hose. I use this pump to empty and refill the cooler. Also by one of the good 5 day coolers. The lid is more secure and it is great when fishing in hot weather.

I've also heard that Please Release Me is good for helping to maintain fish in a livewell, but haven't used it myself:
