  1. Baby brush hogs are my go to t-rig. Close behind would be Senkos and Fat Ikas.
  2. Thanks guys. I have the rods to cover many techniques, I just don't want to be lugging around a bunch of rods when I'm fishing from the bank. When I get the chance to fish from a boat I dont mind pulling out my other technique specific combos, but i don't want to risk damaging my IMX's by banging them against every thing on the shore line. The only dedicated rod I need to get is a deep cranking rod but I have no use for one because I don't get to fish deep water that often. Loomis MBR 783C w/ Shimano Curado 100D - Small jigs/platics, spinnnerbaits Loomis MBR 782C w/ Shimano Calcutta 100B - Shallow crankbaits and other treble hook lures H&H Rods 844 w/ Shimano Curado 200DHSV - C-rigs, jigs, small swimbaits,. My multipurpose combo I use most of the time.
  3. I have tried to limit the amount of stuff I carry when fishing b/c I fish from the bank 99.9% of the time. Currently I just carry one combo with me, a Curado 200DHSV and H&H 7' MH rod and 15# fluro. This combo is intended for jigs and soft plastics, which is what I fish most of the time. My question is can I fish crankbaits with this setup with any effectiveness? I am thinking if I back off the drag a bit so that there is a little give so the fish can take the lure i should be okay. Thoughts & opinions?
  4. I fish them t-rigged, usually weightless sometimes with a keel weighted hook. I will cast out let it fall, then give it a jerk and let it fall, all the way through the strike zone.
  5. I really like the Redfield Revolution scopes. Hard to beat for the money, imo. And they come with Leupold's lifetime warranty.

I had one of my best days of fishing ever last fall using Swim senkos. I use them with weighted swimbait hooks and dip the tail in some spike it. I caught three fish in the 7 lb range and several in the 2-3 lb range that day.
  7. It blew my mind when I heard about the bridge being hit last night. I travel that bridge regularly and there are several members on here that probably fished around it a few years ago at the BR roadtrip. I was amazed there were no injuries as that is usually a pretty busy bridge. It is going to have a huge impact on travel in the area because to cross the lake now is probably going to add at least an hour to someone commute. I don't think alcohol was involved. Apparently that ship has passed under the bridge in the past and they probably weren't expecting the water to be as high as it is. We have had quiet a bit of rain lately, and I am sure the lake is well above winter pool.
  8. Part of me thinks the Singapore picture is from a movie, or that is terrible gun handling. Looks like finger is on the trigger in the pic.
  9. I would bypass vinyl products. They can warp in extreme temperatures. Have you looked at composite/fiberglass windows? I work for a window manufacturer and have built both vinyl and fiberglass framed windows. I have seen the finished products and much prefer the look of fiberglass/composite windows with powdercoated finish.
  10. Saw the thread title and immediately thought this was a thread about Al Davis. I am a Raider fan, btw.

My first gun was New England Firearms single shot 20 gauge. Shortly after that I got a single shot bolt action Marlin .22LR. I don't have either gun any more. The Marlin went to a family member's young son to start shooting and I sold the 20 gauge when I turned 18 to help fund an 870 Express Super Magnum.
  12. I sent a couple of reels in over the winter and was very pleased. He got my Curado and Stradic as good as new again and was very nice to deal with. I would not hesitate to use the service again.
  13. Currently carry a Ruger SP-101 but am waiting on my holster for my Glock 23 then I will start carrying that. I love the Ruger but I do not shoot it very well. I surprised myself how well I shot the glock after I got it.
  14. Baby brush hogs are a staple for me, or any creature bait for that matter, but I took some Yamamoto swim senkos to a farm pond yesterday and caught three of the biggest bass of my life, the biggest being in the 6-7# range.
  15. I bet the MMA world had something to do with this deal as well. The UFC has signed on with Versus to air some events and has a great card scheduled for an upcoming fight on Versus, this weekend I believe.
  16. It was in theaters with limited release last fall. It came out on dvd tues 3/9. I loved the first one and was not dissapointed in the sequel. I drove two hours to see it in theatres and felt it was worth the drive and the higher ticket price at the larger theater. I also bought it on Blu-Ray yesterday.
  17. Dos Equis Amber is my current favorite. Also enjoy Killians, Amber Bock, Miller Lite, Bud Light, and of course Budweiser (but only on tap)

Been a member here for a few years and love this place! I don't post much but I look at it almost everyday. This place fills all of my online fishing needs and has the nicest members of any forum I have ever visited. I don't have a clue what this BBC you speak of is, but I understand why the name isn't being spelled out.
  19. Some job is better than no job.
  20. Beautiful Colt! Although I do prefer the original look, it is still a beautiful gun. I need to find me some of those double diamond grips for my 1911 Govt.
  21. I have heard a lot of good things about the Crossbreed Supertuck. It's not pretty but it is very effective seems to be the consensus. I know when I finally get my G23 i will probably get a Supertuck to go with it. Check out Simply Rugged as well. I am about to get one of theirs for my SP101. They make some for Autoloaders as well. Also, look into a quality gun belt. I have heard it makes a huge difference in both comfort and concealment.
  22. Great movie. I saw it in theatres and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't even want to see it but went with some friends and loved it. Will probably be picking it up on BluRay soon.
  23. I have had my permit for a couple years now and never really carried when fishing, or much at all. Mainly b/c I have never had a gun that was easily concealable. I could conceal my 1911 but it not easily. I recently purchased a Ruger SP-101 2.25" .357 and have started carrying much more frequently. Once I get good leather for it I will probably start carrying whenever possible. Plus its stainless so I don't have to worry about moisture as much,
  24. Colts and Vikes, with INdy winning it all. Like you though, I am kind of wanting to root for the Jets
  25. I have a degree in Occupational Safety & Health but have yet to find work in that field since I graduated in Dec 2008 so I am doing what I did in college- working on an assembly line manufacturing windows.
