best casting line for a baitcaster?
Yo Zuri Hybrid is good, as is Gamma Colpolymer. I also have tried the Suffix brands with good results. However, I have went back to Trilene XL for my spinning and Trilene Big Game for casting because I can always find it, it is cheaper, and it has never let me down.

Ky lake locals help
Two of my best spots for bank fishing are Poplar Creek (on Barkley) and by the paddleboats near KY Dam on KY lake. I usually have good luck bass fishing at both spots. The only problem with Poplar Creek is that you have to get their pretty early or it gets almost too crowded to fish, my best fishing times have been around sun up. Also, don't forget about LBL, there are a number of good spots inside there to bank fish. If you need more details or some directions let me know.

Loomis MBR 783/4 and 843/4 owners, please yap at me....
I use the 782 (shallow cranks) and 783 (plastics and light jigs) for almost all of my bass casting. I really like the 783 and it would be the rod I kept if I had to get rid of all the others. Although I haven't used a 4 power loomis, if it can go down to a 1/4 oz I would probably get it as a stand alone casting rod, especially if you are planning on using it for stripers. I am also confined to the shore when I fish and I prefer a 6'6" rod because I tend to hit too much stuff with the 7 footers.

KY Lake conditions?
I can tell you that the lake is UP right now. It's been raining almost daily for about a week. I think the rain is about done so they might start lowering it soon. I haven't been out on it much this year but there are some other locals that will probably be along soon to give some more detailed info.

I usually drink whole milk or 2%. I can't stand skim milk.

Summer Internships
I interned last summer, it was a requirement for my degree (Occupational Safety & Health). Luckily my university helped out a lot by bringing companies into the department for interviews and information sessions. The best advice I can give is to be polite but also assertive and just keep those lines of communication open. Keep in regular contact with the hiring managers just to show your still interested. Good luck.

Looking for Spinning Reel Recommendations
I am a Shimano man for the most part and my Stradic 2500FH is my favorite spinning reel, but I think for under $100 the Daiwa Exceler is the way to go.

270 Winchester vs. 30-06 Springfield
I recently had this exact same decision to make. I was wanting to get a new deer rifle so I wouldn't have to lug my 870 around the woods during deer season. I was deciding between the 270, 30-06 and 308. I really wanted the .308 but had trouble finding a rifle in my price range that I liked. I ended up going with the 30-06 because there are more choices of guns in that caliber in my area. Also, where I do my hunting most shots are less than 200 yards so the flat shooting of the .270 wasn't much of an issue. If you are still looking for a gun, may I recommend the new Marlin XL7? For a hunter on a budget i don't know if it gets any better especially for a new gun, it can be had for less than $300. The rifle only weighs about 6# and doesn't kick too bad with 150-165 grain 30-06 loads.

Reel for medium size swimbaits?
The Calcutta 300TE is a great swimbait reel, that is what I bought. Don't discount the Curado 300. I went Musky fishing with a guide this past summer that used a 300D for some of his smaller lures. You could probably find the 300D for a good price now that the new ones are out. I got my 300D for about $90 at a Cabelas Bargain Cave sale in MN.

Question about handgun permit form
I have a Taurus 24/7 in .40 that has been good to me. I have never had any issues since I bought it and would recommend one. MY friend has a Taurus 92 9mm that I have shot quite a bit and it is also a really nice gun. If you plan on carrying I would get the 24/7 but if you are just going to punch paper at the range would go with the 92.

Question for Chicago gun owners
I am not sure, as I don't live in IL, but think any firearm in IL has to be registered with the State Police. I would take a look at the IL State Police website, if I were you.

penn reels
My dad swears by them for catfishing and snagging spoonbill. Parts are easily available and they are fairly easy to work on. I used an INternational muskie fishing this summer and it was one of the nicest reels I have ever handled, right there with my Calcutta TE. Don't know anyhting about the newer smaller stuff

Headphones
I use these phillips headphones on my MP3 player. They sound really good. Mine are black and I got them at WalMart only paid about $20 for them. http://www.consumer.philips.com/consumer/en/gb/consumer/cc/_productid_SHE5920_00_GB_CONSUMER/In-Ear-Headphones+SHE5920-00

Daiwa Exceler.
Spinning or baitcasting? I have a Exceler 1500 spinning reel that is a great little reel. I handled every reel in the price range at Cabelas and the Exceler is what I came home with. I don't know of a nicer reel for $70 or $80, and I am usually a Shimano guy.

There is a program called Paint.net at download.com that is very similar to photoshop and it's free. Might want to check it out if you just want to mess around with it.

2008 BR Fantasy Football
I hadn't realized there were any issues. When did this occur? I checked mine yesterday afternoon and everything looked normal.

wolverine boots...
My dad swears by the durashock wolverines but hates the multishocks. I have had good luck with timberlands, you might want to look into them as well. Dad's don't seem to last too long though. He works around a lot of greases, solvents, and other dirty things though.

Smartphones
So, a wifi enabled phone can't access the internet using wifi without a data plan? That seems odd. I have been looking at new phones and don't care want the data plan but want wifi capability so I can access the wireless network at school. Will have to keep looking.

Do you own many casting reels under $100.00, how do like 'em?
I have two Ambassadeur 4600s, an Ambassadeur 5600, a Daiwa Advantage, and a Shimano Curado 201BSF that I bought for under $100 each. I really like all these reels, and would recommend them to anybody. They are not as nice as my Curado D's or Calcuttas but they are solid reels. PLus, I can beat up on them and not feel too bad.

Anybody Snag Fish?
I have never done it, but my dad used to. It used to be a big thing on KY and Barkley for Spoonbill. Anyway my dad would use a 7'6" Heavy action rod (almost a broomstick) with a rubber ball attached to the butt of the rod for padding. I am not sure which model but he swears by Penn reels, I think a 309. He used HEAVY mono line and big treble hooks and weights.

Who is your favorite bass fishing TV celebrity?
I like Hank Parker a lot. Next would Bill dance then Roland Martin. I haven't watched Mike D yet but I am sure it's good.

No Doves in Dixie
Never been dove hunting. Would like to try it some time though. I like any opportunity to take the ol' 870 out.

Give me your opinions on my new rod and reel combo
Sounds like a good combo. The 2500 series shimanos are perfect for bass fishing. I probably would have got different line but that's just me. Good luck and catch a big 'un

help me choose reel for mbr 783C
I have that rod in IMX and I use a Curado 100D on it. This is one of my favorite combos and I can fish most anything I want to with it, but it is mainly my jig and plastic set up.
