Ky lake locals help

Featured Replies

I live about 2 hrs north of ky lake and with all the old strip pits getting turned into private property its getting hard to find a nice place to fish around here anymore.  So on my day off ive decided to take my gf down to ky lake to go fishing.  I dont have a boat and really dont have the extra cash to rent one at the moment so I was wondering if any of you locals knew of any good places to fish from the bank.  Really on Ky or Barkley, doesnt really matter to me.  Thanks for the help guys

Some of our guys caught lots of bass fishing off the rocks

at KenLake Lodge. I'm sure you can catch a few. The rig

of choice was a Shak-e2 jig head and a variety of trailers.

I would fish a Rage Tail Lobster (blue).

Good luck!

Yep.  From the Kenlake st PK boat ramp all the way around to the boat dock holds a bunch of fish.

Two of my best spots for bank fishing are Poplar Creek (on Barkley) and by the paddleboats near KY Dam on KY lake.  I usually have good luck bass fishing at both spots.  The only problem with Poplar Creek is that you have to get their pretty early or it gets almost too crowded to fish, my best fishing times have been around sun up.  Also, don't forget about LBL, there are a number of good spots inside there to bank fish.

If you need more details or some directions let me know.
