I'm wondering if a 98 Chevrolet Cheyenne with a 305 long block will pull my 17' Bass Tracker with no problems.

Should have any issues towing anything under 2,000 lbs.

Tom

No problem. You can check for sure by looking at the stickers on the drivers side door jam. It should list the maximum weight you can tow. Then check how much the Tracker and trailer weigh. Gear and people count as well.

I own a 2010 Lowe Stinger 170 which is a big heavy wide 17 and a half foot aluminum bass boat with a 75 hp 2 stroke.  I pull it with a Chevy S-10 ZR2 pickup and it has a 4.3 litre V6 and I go everywhere from MD, PA, VA,TN, and KY with it.I am sure you should be fine with your V8
