Thinking of upgrading on one of my reels and switching out the ceramics on another.  Any preferences or are they about the same?

Hawtech bearings use nylon cages many other use SS.  Probably the biggest difference.

 

Performance wise you won't likely see a difference. The real trick in sourcing bearings is consistency. Which ever way you go spun test each one prior to install. For pure performance advantage an ABEC 5 run dry is all you need.
