Kipawa Propellers

Featured Replies

I was wondering if anyone here has heard of this product or tried it out? I have read some good reviews on it. They claim that it is suppose to be weedless and give you more life to your battery.

Check it out and let me know what you think.  Is it worth the $50 tag.

Thanks Scott

I run one and like it. It's really tough, been grinding rocks and gravel a lot in shallow water and only has a few soft scratches, and only collects hydrilla or contail when on lowest speed, too low to chop. It's heavier than Motor Guide, not a hard brittle plastic, but more like hard rubber.

I fish from a Gheenoe and use  a trolling motor as primary and only power. I have used a Kipawa prop  for about 1 1/2 years and will never go back to the  MK. factory  prop. More speed, more range and just as weedless or more so .

I started using a Kipawa last year on my motorguide.  It really has made my motor more weedless and it is a tough prop.  Note though, if you have to take your motor in for warranty work, remove your Kipawa.  The manufacturers might not honor their warranty if they know you have been using an aftermarket prop.

Kipawa was bought out by Motor Guide.  They renamed the same exact prop Brush Whacker or something to that effect.  There are NO warranty issues with Motor Guide on this prop.

I thought Kipawa was making the props for Motor Guide & could not sell those any longer you have to buy them thru motor guide, but are still making & selling the ones for Minn Kota trolling motors.

I don't know about buyouts but I have a Motor Guide Machette II and held up to a Kipawa prop the MG is like a kids toy.

scbassin,  I'm not 100% sure on your post.  You might actually be right.  I thought they bought the company but I am not 100% positive on that.  I do know the bushwacker prop is made by kipawa.  I know some folks hate the Kipawa with a passion and some love it.  The reviews I have read have been mixed.  I use a 2 blade speed prop on my T Motor..
