PBAngler
I have a small 14 ft jon boat and want to put a bow mount trolling moter on it. The boat is very shallow so i was wondering what size shaft would you put in the front of it. I ran a shallow transom mount that had a shaft of around 36" but i have not found a shallow bow mount. Just need a little advice??
bassmasta7
Is this going to be your only motor (like on trolling motor only lakes) or is it going to be just for fishing?
snowpawn
you can cut, or have the shaft cut to your needs. be careful not to kill your warranty, i just got a minnkota pd, and i think i'm gonna have the shaft cut. it would depend on your use how long you need. choppy water requires a longer shaft than small water. i would go with a little more than you think you need, and if it becomes a prob. make it shorter. JT Bagwell
Go with a 24 volt, 80 lb thrust, 42" shaft Minn Kota Maxxum. That might seem like a little bit of over kill, but you can always turn it down. However, should you need the additional power it is there.
