I recently bought a older 18" skeeter. The trolling motor is just as old. I think it is a 39 lb thrust and it seems to pull me around fine but what would you suggest I get for a new one? I will be buying it this weekend. Is bigger always better?

I recently purchased a hummingbird 787c2 and installed it. When turned on i hear a wierd humming or buzzing noise from the transducer. Is that normal? if not what might be wrong?

i did not see the before pics but it looks great. i have a very similar boat and going to do the same thing but was concerned about the weight factor. Do you have any concerns. Were the decks in and you just carpeted or did you add the decks as well?

Now this is funny. I have had the same thing happen to me several time on the shore and from a boat. I use to lose my cool but now all i do is get as close to them as i possibly can. I mean if I am on shore we will be rubbing shoulders and if on a boat we will take turns pushing each other off. Kill them with kindness. They usually get the picture. One big pet peeve of mine is when i fished from shore is when a boater would park right in front of me. You better believe he heard my lure coming. I tell you what since I have had those experiences i give as much space as possible even more to bank busters.

i am in the market for a bass boat and ran across a tracker avalanche at a reasonable price. My main question is aluminum hull vs. fiberglass. The boat is very appealling to the eye. It is deeper than most fiberglass boats I have looked at and wider. One big dfference that I noticed is the weight. It is about 800 pounds less than other 18ft fiberglass boats. Any and all opinions and info will be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah, that sucks if your on fish but if your bite is slow maybe try and take their advice.

I have a small 14 ft jon boat and want to put a bow mount trolling moter on it. The boat is very shallow so i was wondering what size shaft would you put in the front of it. I ran a shallow transom mount that had a shaft of around 36" but i have not found a shallow bow mount. Just need a little advice??

I looked in to buying some custom baits from this dealer and some of them were over $90. I asked him if scuba gear came with it. Then I asked if i could set up some kind lease program. Just had to give him sh#%. Does anyone believe that these high end custom baits are actually that much better than say a rapala to justify the cost? :-?

I cant get enough of fishing smallies. I enjoy wading rivers in the late summer early fall. I love the top water strike so I like to fish with a popper.

I caught my first bass there when I was four and have been fishing there for the last 22 years. It was a crystal clear lake but has steadily increased with traffic and seems to have changed the clarity slightly.
