Price this boat

Featured Replies

Hey all. I was thinking about buying this boat and trailer. Just wondering how much you would pay for it? It's a 1977 Polar Craft, length 16' beam 64".

I wouldn't give over a $1000 for that thing. No motor, trolling motor looks like it needs replacement, no fishing seats, steering system may or may not need replacement, no electronics, no batteries, no fuel tank, can't tell the condition of the carpet or the hull and what's with a tandem trailer on that small of a  boat???  :-?

Lo -ball offer at $500.00 then see what happens.

Personally I would save my money and keep looking around. You'll get more bang for your buck by buying a used boat that is ready to go. You may be able to get this one plenty cheap but it seems like you'll need to keep spending money on it to get is set up the way you want it. I've gone the piecemeal route in the past an I know I ended up with more money in the boat than it was worth. This one is going to need an outboard $$ and some steering cables, gas tank etc etc. What kind of price range are you shopping in?

Ride before you buy and take someone with you who knows a little bit and have your friend talk shop for you.

They were asking $1695.00 :D I talked the guy down to $1100.00, I'll try to do better next time guys. Everything on it works fine. Lights, bilge pump, anchor weanches, livewell, steering and trolling motor. The hull and floor are in great shape. Had it in the water, no leaks. Couple seats and a motor and a few mods and I'll be ready to go fishing!

the trailer could be worth a thousand alone if its in good condition. I dont know why anyone would need a tandem axel trailer for such a light boat though

The Trailer is a 99 shorelander with 13" tires. It will be nice to have if I get a bigger boat someday. Next year I might get a 30hp for it, but for now 2 trolling motors will do the job. Most of the lakes here in Iowa are no wake or trolling motors only. But I do live on the Mississippi and would like to get out there and try for some walleye's.
