I'm curious if anyone has one of these. My wife bought me one yesterday. It seems like it would be nice to use on lakes that aren't accessible by boat. 

Any opinions on this? Any tips on how to use it more efficiently? Has it helped to map out smaller waters that don't allow boats?

I'm hoping to get out and give it a try this weekend. 

I tried it out. Instead of wasting your time and mine with a review, I'll just tell you my experience with it. 

I went to a small local lake. I hooked up the giant bobber to 30 pound braid on a MHF ROD. I went to cast about 10 yards and noticed the whole rod flex from the 3 oz fish finder. Like a meteor crashing down to earth, my deeper smarter fish finder crashed into the water. 

I picked up my phone and noticed how annoying it was to hold a phone, look at the screen, and reel at the same time. The fish finder froze twice. 

I then put my phone away, cut the line, put the bobber away, and tied on the spinner bait. 

I caught 8 fish in a couple hours and sent the bobber back to amazon.
