Felt Waders in New York?

I will be fishing the Salmon River in Pulaski, New York this weekend. It is attached to Lake Ontario. Can I use felt waders here? Thanks!

I believe its only banned in New York City, but the DEC encourages you to use non-felt boots and waders.

You don't want felt on the Salmon anyway. You'll break your neck! Invest in a pair of Korkers! They're up close to $100, but I promise you'll thank me later. I don't know exactly what it is about that river, but the rocks are the most slippery I have ever walked out. The Korkers feel like velcro on the rocks. Good luck! I hear it is fishing fairly well.
