This is one of the main bodies of water I fish would u guys consider this a large pond or a small lake the red marks are not fishable areas cuz they dry out or are 2' deep with no fish. Also the little square pond on the left is connected and easily passable for large fish is about a 3' deep and 5' wide tunnel. Fish species in here are largemouth, yellow bass, green sunfish, crappie, pike, yellow and black bull head, channel cats, common carp, bluegill, lots of ppls minnows that were bait at one point.

What's the average depth? A lake is typically a body of water with a depth that prevents light from penetrating to the bottom, and a pond is normally a body of water that is shallow enough to support plant matter throughout. Even though terms differ and things get named lakes that aren't, and I know of a few ponds that are 80' deep. It is a relative term, but I would say that's a pond.

Not 100% on this but the big side gets around 20'. I'll check this ice season, and the shore is all rip rap(on the right) also it is a mile around the whole thing 

The Dr has it right, by definition. And, as he mentions, there are waters that could be called either. I can't see calling an 80ft deep "pond" a "lake", esp if I can throw a stone across it.  

Fish yeeter, sounds you're describing a small lake.

sounds good thanks I've always just called it "the lake" but never was sure 

My very simple answer is this.  Can you or would you LIKE to put a boat on it?  If you can adequately fish it from the bank.....pond.  If a boat would get you to some of the better spots?  Lake

I routinely put a boat -a float tube- on small waters -"ponds". Fishing from the shoreline is just too limiting in terms of approach and presentation angles and overall coverage.

Well there's kayaking but not sure on the boat it can fit a few small boats though
