Rhino Lining

Featured Replies

Has anyone ever rhino lined the bottom of their aluminium boat?  I know that LBH had tried it with limited success?  Just wondering if anyone has done this and how they went about doing so.  Do you have it professionally done or can you do it yourself?  Thanks for the input.

I put some Herculiner in my boat myself and it looked good but I guess i didn't prep the aluminum correctly because it is coming up and I am very displeased with it.  If it is done by a pro a think it should be ok.  just my thoughts!

I'd be interested to know how much weight it would add to the boat. My friend owns a Rhino Liner dealer and he did the bottom of his Boston Whaler with it. The stuff seems indestructable and he doesn't hesitate to take that boat anywhere. He'll drag it up on shore like it's an old aluminum canoe. It actually looks kind of cool as well. It's just a little fishing boat so he wasn't really worried about losing any performance by coating the underside of it.

I have an older 15 foot aluminum.  I couldn't decide what to do with the boat on the outside so I had it rhino lined.  It is awesome.  It probably adds a little extra weight but it hasn't slowed me down any.  It was professionally done, and it has held up awesome.  We even added a new transom board and drilled holes right through the rhino and it hasn't chipped or peeled in two years.  It really was a great idea to me...I didn't have to prep it all that much.  We rhinoed the whole thing...any old rivit leaks are now totaly gone.
