Situation

Featured Replies

Today I was fishing with friends and we only caught 1 bass.  What should I use? Here's the situation. It was clear/stained water, 30yards of submerged weed by shore, then a steep drop-off from 5ft to 19ft. We were tracking panfish and bass around the drop off. The one bass was caught on a jerk-bait in 4ft trolling. What should I use there?

JMO, but I definitely would have been working a T-rigged worm or a jig on the outside edge of that grass at the edge of the drop.  A second choice might have been pitching to holes in the grass near the drop.

attack the edges of that grass with anything you feel like, both edges that is. Remember that the top of the grass and where the drop/grass is are both areas to fish. Run something like a crank or spinner over the top of the grass and see if you can get a reaction. same thing with the drop, but you can add a jig to your arsenal. AS with anytime fishing grass a t rig should be a good idea.
