Thought I would try my hand at whittling, carving with just a pocket knife. A little rough, but it's a start.

Looks good! How long did it take to make it?

You could turn carving little fish into another career. Key fobs, Christmas ornaments, decorative pieces or even into fishing lures. I'd buy em.

I guess about an hour. Probably would have turned out even better if I had taken a little more time.

Seriously, folk art is very popular and very collectable. Hand carved pieces that relate to someone's hobby can sell very well especially if they are well done. For your first attempt, that is very good!

I could not agree more. If you could paint those and make them in all different types of fish, you could have a good market. You could take them to art shows to start and wait till your name gets out there. Good Luck!

Looks good....my first thought when you showed that I was picturing a front porch with a rocking chair and a glass of ice tea.

Enjoy.
