Zman Zinkerz and wacky rig O rings compatible

If I use a new wacky tool and o rings, will the O ring and the Zinkerz react? I know the Zinkerz are tough as nails, but think the O ring rig would make them last longer especially since I have seen the hook point area rip s bit on the Ned rig.

Or you can just twist around and make a new hole every now and then.

I have a zinker that's been on my bench for at least 3 months with an o ring on it. No reaction as of yet so it's not a concern. They are tough baits so you could reposition them often if needed without an o ring. I've caught  at least a dozen fish with them and aside from breaking off 1 or 2 from fishing in cover they work well.
