Tubes

Featured Replies

How do you rig a tube? Where do you use it? What colors are most effictive? How do you use it?

A tube can be rigged like most soft plastics but they also have special jig heads that will fit up inside of the tube.  I like to use them to flip around heavy vegetation either texas rigged with the sinker pegged or while fishing docks and swimming them on a jig head.  It can be hpped along the bottom, drug, or swam like any other soft plastic.

I texas rig them and throw them around wood/weeds/rocks...pretty much everywere you can cast you could catch a fish with them.  Hop/drag it on the bottom...

I like to swim tubes when the fish are shallow.  I have several colors but black, green, brown, and smoke are the 4 basics that I use most.  Here is a pic of one rigged with the weighted jig and weedless.

I used to use Watermellon PowerTubes (powerbait) T-rigged weightless. Me and my friends would slam the bass with them, infact that lure has held our "most bass cought within a hour" record for almost a year! I havn't used them in a long time though becuase my local tackle shop stopped selling them. :-[

I rig with a 1/8 oz. weedless insert head....use it everywhere (mimics minnows and crayfish)

Dark colors in Green and Brown tones...No real wrong way to fish, but do it slowly imitating bait.  You will get snagged A LOT...but the snag rate goes down after you get the hang of it.  Tubes are great baits.

Good Luck
