bow mounting a trolling motor

Featured Replies

hey guys i have a 14 ft john boat with a deck in it and the swivel seats and the livewell and were getting a trolling motor but i dont know how to mount it because there is a 4 inch lip around the boat in the front and i need some ideas on how the trolling motor will be able to extend over the lip..some help would be great thanks,

Use a spacer (first thought is a 4x4 cut to length, possibly wrapped with carpet to match the deck) to mount the troller on so it's high enough to clear the lip.

Notice the bracket for support.

If I had to do over again I would spread the swithes apart and leave the middle empty.

Here's the finished product.

Hope that helps.

Fluke,

I thought about that but I was scared that it was going to be at an angle that would make it hard to read.
