Well, I bought my first boat

Featured Replies

(well, other than a canoe my cousin and I had when we were kids)

It's a 17'x6' Traveler SeaNymph (made by Lund?). A Jon type with a modified V. it has 60hp Evinrude, and trailer. Has a full back deck, and a half up front deck. It has a few lockable compartments, two big enough to hold my polls. Two under the seats live wells. Two seats for while driving and two pedestal seats.

Now the bad the carpet is every faded and ripped and the back deck will need to be replaced. A couple of the cabinet doors will also need to be replaced. But, I am a pretty good carpenter so this presents no problems for me at all.

They (this is a dealership) are doing a full service on the motor to make sure it is perfect.. all for $1500. I have been looking for a while, and this is a great price around here anyway.

Now the hard part. What color should I paint the boat (I can never just leave things alone) with what color carpet?????

Hey, why is the steering wheel on the wrong side? No, really, why?

I can not tell you what colors to paint your boat. But I can tell you the stearing in on the right side to counter act the torque of the prop. The prop turns clockwise this will cause the boat to lean left when running. The driver's weight will keep the right side of the boat down.

Hey congrats on the boat! Sounds like  a good deal to me. :)

I'd vote for hunter green for the hull and tan for the carpet.  But I'm partial since that is the color of my boat.

Let us know when you catch your first fish from her.  That first catch from your first rig is such a cool feeling!  ;D

Good luck with it!

Congrats on the new boat. It sounds like an awesome deal. Hopefully you can post a pic or two.
