Anyone rig a canoe with a portable depth finder? If so, what model do you use and would you recommend it.

sonar with a suction cup transducer that you could stick to the side or bottom of a canoe or use a transom adapter clamped to the side of the canoe.Eagle ,lowrance make them also and are higher quality than those watch types.

try one of these. I have an older one and use it all the time.
