Dragonfly on Kayak - shoot through hull?

Hello,

 

I'd like to avoid using a waterwell and a scupper install will not work well on my kayak.

 

Has anyone installed a Raymarine Dragonfly transducer shooting through the hull of a kayak? Would you say the image is perfect?
 

I was thinking of slapping it on some marine goop after removing the bubbles. How did you mount it?
