My buddy has a Daiwa T3 Ballistic 100h baitcast reel and it is impossible to cast without backlashing it. Brakes are turned all the way up and it backlashes. I tried taking the side plate off and it was very greasy/oily on the braking components, so I cleaned it off with rubbing alcohol and it casted fine for 2 casts and then backlashed horribly again. I repeated those steps about 3 times and then I ran out of line. It's not just a little nest either. It normally ruins the whole spool of line. I am very familiar with baitcast reels, as is he. We fish them multiple times a week, so its not like we don't know how to cast. We both have Lew's, *** and BPS reels. I have no idea where the oil would be coming from or if it has anything to do with it. I recently took the whole sideplate and spool and soaked it in rubbing alcohol. Same results. If anyone experienced this or has a suggested fix, please let me know.

There's a switch at the bottom of the reel that has 3 cast controls. Use the one for max brake or all around. Those reels cast great. I have 2 t3 1016's and they are my best casters 

I've set that switch to max as well.

Did you check the spool rotor? Maybe its stuck 

It spins easily and pulls away from the spool a short distance. Should it spin with the spool or stay still?

Does it continually keep spinning around?

If the spool is turning the inductor should be turning with the spool. If you can get the inductor to spin(it will move slightly like 1/8 of an inch thats normal) and the spool is still stationary you have an issue.

Yes. According to this video (11:55), it's suppose to have a spring action. It doesn't have the spring action, it just pulls away from the spool without resistance and without the spring holding anything back. I've checked the parts diagram and everything is there in the right order. I can't figure out whats not in the right place. The rotor is completely loose.

 

Just looked at mine. Try just pushing the rotor into the spool a bit

It goes over the shaft pin and sits in and doesn't rotate when I do that, but there's nothing to hold it from falling away from the spool. The spring is suppose to hold it in but its like there's a piece missing. I have 19-25.

That part 24 is pressure fit it may have come loose look at this vid

Just buy a 1016 spool

Your buddy will like the reel once you get it straightened out.  The MagForce 3D reels are the only ones I can cast with brakes set at minimum.
