  1. Ultrex, helix g4n 12" or the new 15", and mega 360 will about do it for me come next season
  2. 3 jig rods on deck, a big worm/pitching setup depending in depth & cover. About covers the day in day out stuff for me. Throw in a frog or buzz bait if I'm in the shallows, too.
  3. No cut off for me. I can wait till a good price shows up for something. I'll try my best not to buy at retail unless it's something totally awesome.
  4. I have that rod in the LTB flavor. I use it for almost exclusively for jerkbaits
  5. Seafoam/mercury quickleen and some of the marine Stabil when winterizing
  6. When i first started seriously fishing, I went with a guy who does a lot of tournaments locally here, and he swore by the jig. I never fished one beforehand. When I went with him the first time, he taught me the basics. That same day I caught my first over 4lb bass on that jig he gave me. Ever since that day, i always have a jig rod on deck, if it's not already in my hand. That "thunk" of a jig bite is magical!
  7. Anxiously awaiting your findings! Looking at getting one or the other.
  8. 200e Shimanos and like-reels are mindlessly easy to work on. Love them. The worst are calais dcs and antares, like stated above
  9. Yes. Order the curado K gearset from The Tackle Trap. They have all the ratios a curado k normal has. They're brass micro gears
  10. Jig n pig. Along with my other 3 biggest bass
  11. 1. Champion - love my 190dcx! 2. Phoenix 3. Vexus
  12. My first ice rod was, like you, a solid fiberglass rod with one guide at the end and a cradle. I made my own spring bobber out of a straightened paperclip and it did work quite well!
  13. Got some of the ice equipment out and ready to rock 27" UL tickle stick Black betty 6061 28" Med Widow maker Ci4+ 1000hg
  14. I tear everything down to the bare frame and clean and re lube it all during the winter. I enjoy it as well and keeps my mind of the mile thick ice we get up here lol. My tiny spinners though get used for ice fishing and cleaned in the summer
