shimano nasci is a good reel. Also the Diawa bg is solid. Phluger supreme also a good choice.

under 100.00 tough to do but I agree the shimano reels like the spirex and Sahara will do ya just fine

Diawa legalis, best drag in that price range hands down 

There are several good Shimano's in the $59 to $100 range, add a St Croix for another $100-$150 and your will fish with anything out there.  If your going to try to save money do it on the reel and not the rod.

Daiwa definitely makes great reels. Never held a Legalis

but I've owned a Lexa and handled many other Daiwas.

Good stuff. Though my personal favorite is the Shimano

Stradic in a 1000 size. Extra drag handled by the palm

of my hand

I'm not against the Pflueger President, just never held one; and I know I love my Lews baitcasters and I tried this reel in the store=smooth as buttah. Any feedback? For $45 seems solid.

I saw a 2016 Shimano Stradic Ci4+ on eBay for just $90.  Figured I would just put that out here, as many people consider those to be the best.

It had the round handle, so the one that's a year old.  I would have grabbed it if I hadn't already picked up my Nasci and put line on it.

I love the drag on the Mitchell 308 pro. I think the President might be built a little better, but between the two, I prefer the Mitchell. 

Every reel I own is a Shimano, but at that price point I would buy a Pflueger President. 

Now I'm tempted to buy an Omega Pro spincast thanks to this thread. I just want to see how far they've come from the old 33's.
