I just recently bought a Do-It 5 in senko mold and started playing around making some cool colors and figuring out the amount of salt and glitter to use. I have baits that I like the look of and that fall at about the same rate (from what I can tell from sink testing) however my baits seem to almost spiral on the fall as compared to the fluttering type action a real senko has. Is the only way to get a similar falling action to use softener? I want to keep the baits as close to the original right now as possible, and I will try some other recipes later on. 

I'm sure there are many people who make their own stickbaits... I'm not sure why no one has chimed in to help.  Just a friendly bump .

Yammy Senko formula

 

4 oz med plastisol

2 heaping tablespoons pickling or popcorn salt from Walmart

1 tablespoon softener

Senko wiggle is a combination of the softness of the plastic and the weight of the Senko, about 3/8 oz each.

My recipe is:

1 cup plastic

1/2 cup of salt

 

I don't use softener because I use Baitjunkys soft degassed plastisol that is already extremely soft. Gary also add sand blasting media (Silica) to his baits along with salt and he also uses Table salt ground down.

You might be getting an air bubble at the injection inlet end of the senko, causing the tail end to be heavier and lead the fall. Watch when you top the larger cavity that feeds each of the worm cavities, the level of the plastic will fall as it continues to infiltrate the mold cavity. You might need to top it back off with more plastic before the bait cavity draws air into itself.
