Transducer mounted to motor

Featured Replies

I have a stern mounted 55lb. thrust Minn Kota on my Sun Dolphin Pro 120 and presently have the transducer attached to the motor. Is the moving prop going to cause the transducer to work improperly? I have a stern saver mounting kit, and can install the transducer to that if need be. It is dead of winter here, so putting the boat in the water is not possible. Would appreciate your advice.

Best to all

If you are using a trolling motor mount transducer, I don't see what the issue would be.

Yes, I am using the trolling motor transducer mounting kit from Lowrance. My concern is whether turbulence from the turning prop will affect the transducer performance when the motor is running. My first finder, so I have no experience with this.

It should be fine.  Countless anglers have them mounted on the front trolling motor, myself included.  Where you run into interference is when the TM and graph are on the same battery - that's a no-no.

Glad you mentioned that. I had planned to power the finder from the cigarette adapter on the trolling motor battery box. Appreciate the heads up
