been thinking about a kicker motor

Featured Replies

I have a 17' aluminum bass type boat it has a 60hp Evenrude on it. Some times all that just isn't needed.  I fish the river far more than the lakes.

I have been toying around with the idea of a kicker motor.  I have a 10hp Johnson that runs good in the barn.   But it is a tiller motor How hard would it be to convert it to set of controls I can run up to the dash?

Is it worth even thinking about, or just too hard to do?  I know I would need a Jackplate.  How much do those run?

I have a kid in collage and I am looking at retirement from the Army in a couple of years, so my budget it VERY limited

Thanks for your help guys
