Onshore Fishing near Biddeford maine

Featured Replies

Haven't been fishing in years. Want to take my 9 year old daughter this upcoming spring. Where is some good onshore fishing to try near Biddeford Maine? I prefer bass but looking for anything that will be fun for my daughters first time.

Dan, you can PM me anytime you would like in regards to fishing onshore near the Biddeford area. I live in Sanford which is about 15-20 minutes west of Biddeford. Sanford/Alfred area is loaded with great shore fishing opportunities for young and old anglers alike. Estes Lake is the first one that comes to mind. Look at it on a map and find the 2 bridges on the lake. Lots of room to fish from the bridges. Lots of safe areas for children to fish also. You dont "have" to stand on the bridges to fish. I am a teacher and I take a group of school kids fishing 3 or 4 times a week in these locations. As far as the fishing there goes, its chock full of bass, perch, and crappie. Both smallmouth and largemouth bass. If that is too far of a ride for you let me know and we can go over some other areas, but I have friends who travel from Windham down to Estes to fish off the bridge because the fishing is that good there. Let me know and welcome to the forum!
