EverStart ES-TX9 battery for Lowrance Hook 5?

Featured Replies

As the title states, today I went to Walmart and grabbed a battery to dedicate to my Lowrance Hook 5 fishfinder, and I was curious if this was an ok battery to get. I thought I knew what I was doing but I'd rather ask a few people in here that know way more than me if this is ok. After reading more into it, I'm just unsure.

Any thoughts? This will be rigged on my 10' Pelican Bass Raider (Yes I've seen and partake in the extensive Bass Raider thread :) )

While you're here thinking about it..I bought the trolling motor transducer mount for it as well. Anyone have experience with that?

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Would love to bring it back and get something else if I'm supposed to, but I feel like it should work.

What is the amp draw of your fish finder?  I don't see anything wrong with the battery, but I'm no expert.

The problem I'm having most is that I can not find the statistics for A/H of the battery. I've looked online as well, but don't see it. I just want to be sure I bought the proper type of battery.
Not sure what the amp draw of my FF is, I just kind of wanted a battery that I know could pull off a 8-12 hour day easily. Maybe even longer if needed.

Thanks for your reply Scotty

It's a 12 amp hour battery.

Oh really? Where'd you find the info? Also, thanks for that. :)

Ahhhh ok, I didn't bother go to the Walmart site, as it had no info in store and nobody could tell me anything. I just assumed it was every bit as vague on their website. Well, shows what happens when one assumes something :)

Thanks again! This seems to be a "motorcycle battery"? So just making sure there's no issue with what I picked. I guess I'll purchase some alligator clips to install on the bare wires of the fish finder when I get it, and see how well it works.
