I recently got a Veritas 2.0 Micro Guide rod this Christmas. Haven't used it yet but I have heard of people having issues with the guide inserts falling out or cracking. Just wanted to know if anyone on here has had similar issues or if it is just a few isolated incidents or a bad batch.

I abused my Veritas for two years before I could pop an insert.  I was jabbing at a branch that had taken a lure hostage...with the tip of my Veritas...Branch won.   I snipped off the tip and put a new eye....The rod remains a very solid performer....I would not hesitate to recommend it...Or to buy another.

I have a few friends that fish HARD!  They have has a few pop out. I fished an original series Veritas for frogging and never had a problem. I would not sweat it. They are good rods and if it happens just find a local rod repair guy. I use a local rod guy and he charges around $10 to fix it.

If it makes you feel any better. I had an eyelet pop out of my legend tournament after about 7 weeks. It can happen to any rod. The more you take care of it, the less likely things will go wrong. 

I own a couple of veritas rods, and they've held up well. You cannot beat them for the price right now. 

If you have the rod use it, then see how it performs for you. It is very hard to gauge something like that from reviews because you don't know if the rod came with a bad guide or if someone hit the guide off the side of the boat or any other problem. You also have to watch for guys that "parrot" reviews, I see this a lot where people will post a bad review of tackle that they don't even own because they "heard" it bad, it happens more than you think. Use the rod and don't have any preconceived notions on how it will work, chances are it will be just fine.

Yep...and same situation, I would do it the same way.  I was traveling with few rods and limited resources.   Fortunately, I carry a tip repair kit in a tackle box.  I tried to heat with a lighter and pull old tip off, but that went poorly.  So, I cleanly snipped off the tip, maybe a 1/2 inch max, put a new one on and was using it 15 minutes after I busted the insert out. 

  I will say that the action has not suffered such that I can tell at all.  Originally, a 7' MH, it is now a 6'11.5" MH and acts as my primary spinnerbait rod.  At $75, or whatever they're going for nowadays, I would heartily recommend them.
